THE railway ministry is responsible for the planning and running of trains and allied locomotive services. Therefore, the railways have to cater to passengers’ needs.

This is a request to the railway authorities to ensure that every train and station has first aid equipment, and railway employees on trains and stations are trained in administering basic medical aid.

IN the past few years, I have preferred using the railways to travel. More than often, I found the service good. Owing to this impression, I thought the railway sector was doing well.

I was therefore, amazed to learn that the railways had incurred a loss of Rs40 billion, and the chief justice was looking into the affairs of the railways.

In my opinion, to further improve its working, the railways should offer innovative schemes and increase service the quantity of service.
