PEKING: The Pakistan Foreign Minister, Mr Arshad Husain, arrived here this evening [Aug 3] to begin a seven-day visit to China at the invitation of the Chinese Government. He was welcomed at the airport by Mr Chen Yi, Vice-Premier and Foreign Minister, and more than 1,000 revolutionary people in the Capital.

The National Flags of China and Pakistan flew at the airport. Holding also portraits of Chairman Mao and Pakistan President Ayub Khan, the revolutionary people from all walks of life beat drums and gongs in honour of the guests from Pakistan, a friendly neighbour of China.

Accompanied by Vice-Premier Chen Yi, Foreign Minister Arshad Husain, his wife and his party walked around the airport to greet the welcoming crowds.

Waving the red books “quotations from Chairman Mao Tse Tung”, the welcomers shouted:

“Long live the friendship between the people of China and Pakistan.

“Resolute support for the Pakistan people’s struggle for safeguarding national independence and against foreign aggression.

“Resolute support for the Kashmir people’s struggle for national self-determination.

“Long live the people of Pakistan.

“Salute to President Ayub Khan.

“Long live Chairman Mao.”
