PESHAWAR: The district government of Peshawar has arranged a food festival on the occasion of inauguration of Namakmandi Food Street on Aug 11. The food street was ready for inauguration about two months ago, but the process was delayed due to ban imposed by Election Commission of Pakistan due to the election.
According to a statement issued here on Thursday, the food mela would be opened on Aug 11 and various programmes, including music, would be arranged on Aug 11 and 12. It was stated that old style qahwakhana would also be set up in addition to stalls of traditional Peshawari dishes for the people in a hygienic environment.
Peshawar district nazim Mohammad Asim Kahn visited the food street and hoped that it would become a place of best food items and recreation for public. He appreciated the services of his team members, including Mubashir Manzoor, Taqdeer Ali and Mena Khan, who played active role in setting up of the food street.
