KARACHI: The second edition of the Parvez Abbasi Open Shooting Championship will be held from Aug 7-12 here at the Pakistan Navy shooting range at PNS Karsaz.

The details of the tournament were provided by Commodore Ghazanfar Abbas during a press briefing here at a local hotel on Thursday.

The tournament is open to everyone including general public as well as teams from Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, Police and other law enforcement agencies. Last year, Navy shooters won the most number of medals.

This annual event is held to commemorate the life and achievements of Parvez Abbasi, the founding secretary of the National Rifle Association and the driving force behind promotion of shooting sports in Pakistan.

All the events will be conducted as per the rules laid out by the International Shooting Sport Federation, governing body of the Olympic shooting events in Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun categories.
