RAWALPINDI: City Police Officer (CPO) Abbas Ahsan has directed the traffic police officials to facilitate the citizens visiting the Driving Licence One Window Facility Centre.

He also directed the traffic police to introduce token system for the aspirants of driving licences.

“All the visitors should be treated equally,” he said.

All the driving licences should be issued purely on merit otherwise strict action would be taken against the traffic police, he said while talking to media men upon his visit to Traffic Police Headquarters here on Wednesday.

On the occasion, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Mohammad Bin Ashraf, DSP Traffic HQs Taimoor Khan, circle in-charges and lady traffic wardens were also present.

CTO Mohammad Bin Ashraf briefed the CPO about licensing process.

CPO Abbas Ahsan directed the CTO and other traffic police officials not to compromise on merit.

He said test of all the applicants should be taken in accordance with law and the licences should only be issued to those who pass road and traffic signals tests.

He also visited different sections of Traffic Police Headquarters and expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements made by CTO Mohammad Bin Ashraf to facilitate the visitors and applicants. He also advised the citizens to obey traffic rules and cooperate with traffic police on roads for a smooth traffic flow.
