RECENTLY, the Open Testing Service (OTS) conducted a recruitment test for the post of Sub Inspector (Investigation) in the Federal Investigation Agency. Unfortunately, the test was not conducted in a transparent manner and a great number of irregularities were witnessed.
First, the OTS rejected the application forms of hundreds of eligible candidates without giving any reason. Despite lodging online complaints several times, OTS officials did not respond. This raised doubts about the transparency of the test at the very initial stage.
Later on, rampant cheating was reported through social and electronic media. The question paper comprising 100 questions was leaked, and a video showed candidates openly cheating in the examination hall. The use of mobile phones in the examination hall suggests that the invigilation staff facilitated cheating. This is unfair to potential candidates. Authorities concerned must look into the matter.
