DERA MURAD JAMALI: Four female candidates are contesting election on general seats of national and provincial assemblies in Nasirabad division.

Rahat Faiq Jamali was the first female politician of the division who was elected to the Balochistan Assembly in the 2013 election on the Pakistan Muslim League-N ticket.

She is contesting on the traditional seat of the Jamalis that include the political headquarters of the Jamali tribe.

This time, she has been awarded a ticket by the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) after her husband Mir Faiq Ali Jamali was disqualified from taking part in the election.

Ms Jamali is facing Mir Omar Khan Jamali, the son of former prime minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali, who is contesting the provincial assembly election on the ticket of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI). Ms Jamali had defeated Omer Khan in the 2013 election.

The Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) candidate Dr Shahnaz Baloch is contesting on NA-260-Nasirabad-Cum- Jhal Magsi-Kachhi.

She a known gynecologist and served as a professor in Bolan Medical College before her retirement. She is contesting an election for the first time.

The PML-N has fielded Kishwar Jattak who was elected a member of the Balochistan Assembly on a seat reserved for women in the 2013 elections.

Dr Sakina Ghafoor Solangi is contesting for a general seat from PB-11-Nasirabad.
