KASUR: Four people were killed when a mini truck rammed into a parked tractor trolley on Multan Road near the Pattoki toll plaza on Sunday.

Police said that a mini truck driven by Abdul Sattar, 45, and passengers Muhammad Siddique, Irfan and Muhammad Afzal was on its way from Pattoki to Burewala tehsil early on Sunday. When it reached near the Pattoki toll plaza, it hit a parked tractor trolley from the rear side. Sattar, Siddique, Irfan and Afzal died on the spot.

Rescue 1122 personnel had to slice the mini truck to retrieve the bodies that were taken to Pattoki THQ Hospital for autopsy.

In another accident, at least five people were injured when a truck smashed into a shop after colliding with a container loaded with cement bags near Khalsa village on Multan Road.

A heavy container loaded with cement bags collided with a truck while taking a U-turn on Multan Road near Nathay Khalsa village. The collision repulsed the truck into a roadside shop.

At least five people, including Asif, Mehmood, Mansha, Saleem and Shabbir, suffered serious injuries. They were rushed to Manga Mandi Rural Health Centre from where Asif and Mahmood were referred to Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital due to their critical condition.

Drivers of both vehicles managed to escape. Police impounded their vehicles.
