THIS refers to your editorial ‘PTI manifesto’ (July 11). I have been virtually addicted to Dawn for the last 30 years. Balanced, objective reports and analysis have been the forte of the newspaper, for it had always been way ahead of other competitors in the field.
I, however, regret to say that its comprehensive coverage, and multi-dimensional approach of unbiased, factual analysis has been on the wane in recent times. To illustrate, excluding a salient commitment in the PTI manifesto to establish a model Islamic welfare state as visualised by the Quaid-i-Azam, the founder of Dawn, and often enunciated in Imran Khan’s public speeches, gives a sense of betrayal to Pakistan’s raison d’être.
I hope you will make amends and revert to well-informed, factual reporting and objective analysis.
