KARACHI: Nishter Club beat Arambagh Club 52-43 while Bounce Club thrashed Usman Club 50-18 in the 13th NBP Cup Basketball tournament here at the Arambagh courts on Friday.

Nishter Club, by virtue of the win, became Group B champions and entered the semifinals. Talha Amjad was brilliant on the court with 28 points while Hamza Ahmed and Ali Chun Zaib both scored eight points each.

For Arambagh Club, Zain Khan and Fazeel Ahmed both scored 14 points each.

In the second match, bounce Club emerged victorious due to Mohammad Hasan (17 points), Mohammad Ahmed (16 points) and Saifullah (10 points). For the losing side, Hasan Wali and Usman Khawaja both scored eight points each.

Earlier, on Thursday, three matches were played and two remained very high scoring ones.

In the first match, Neighbourhood Club outplayed Usman Club 106-35. Abdullah khan was in great form and scored 31 points while Rohaib Khan scored 17 points and Hammad Khan scored 26 points.

For the losing side, Hamza Asif scored 10 points while Usman Khawaja scored eight points and Hasan Ali scored 6 points.

In the second match on Thursday, Malir Trojan trounced Karachi Youth Club 101-48. Baber Khan was the architect of Malir win with 21 points and he was superbly supported by Abbas Khan who scored 20 points. Arsalan Shakir scored 19 points.

For Karachi Youth, the main scorer was Wasim Rasool with 12 points and Syed Saad with 8 points.

In the third match, One Unit Club beat Karachi Colts 75-24. Talal Ahmed was unstoppable on the day, scoring a tournament record of 38 points. Kashif Sarwary (14 poiints) and Nihal mohammad (14 points) also played well.

For the losers, Safeer Hussain scored 14 points while Haider Shaha scored six points.
