THIS is apropos the article ‘The plot thickens…’ (July 11) by Zahid Hussain in which he has critcised the authorities who have instituted a money laundering case against Asif Zardari and his sister, Faryal Talpur.

Why has the writer sympathised with a known manipulator? Who does not know the exploits of Zardari? Is there a law that a case cannot be registered against a suspect because he and his party are going for elections?

Putting his and the name of his sister on the exit control list was the most sensible thing to do. Given the track record of politicians, whenever they face an inquiry they either suffer a heart attack or need urgent medical care abroad. They are fighting fit when the plunder is on.

If Zardari and his sister are innocent, they should prove their innocence by giving the money trail of their wealth.

It is mindboggling to see how their wealth has multiplied by geometrical progression. Whenever any good thing happens in Pakistan our so-called liberals start a campaign of vilification against the judiciary and the army.
