PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, has arrested Navid Sadiq, a resident of Kohat, for being involved in depriving over 50 potential pilgrims of millions of rupees.
According to a statement issued here on Wednesday, the accused was arrested during a raid.
It was stated that another accused Abdul Aqeel, (already convicted), in connivance with Navid were running business in the name of Aqeel Travel & Tours, Nowshera. Through advertisements in newspapers they had invited Haj applications from general public offering low cost luxurious packages.
They collected money from 51 pilgrims despite the fact that they had acquired no Haj quota from the ministry of religious affairs in gross violation of the relevant laws, thus depriving the prospective pilgrims of their hard-earned money as they ultimately failed to send them for pilgrimage as per commitments.
