CHAKWAL: A 19-year-old man went missing from Islamabad last week and the police have not been able to track him down.
A resident of Chakwal’s Roopwal Village, Waseem Haider worked as a security guard with his brother Humayun at the same company. Waseem was working at a hotel for which he was promised Rs11,000 salary but was only paid Rs8,000.
He called his brother Humayun on July 9, who was at home on leave, and told him he had left the job after the supervisor slapped him when he asked for the rest of his pay.
While the brothers were talking on the phone, Waseem was stopped by someone claiming to be police.
“One of the men spoke to me and said they had to check him as he was wandering near Faisal Mosque and that they had also demanded a photocopy of his CNIC,” Humayun said.
Humayun said Waseem gave them the photocopy and his number was then switched off and is still off.
Humayun told the police and when his mobile phone data was obtained, it was found that the last call was made in Blue Area.
“The police said Waseem was not stopped by police personnel,” Humayun said.
