LAHORE: PML-N president and former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif visited on Thursday night different parts of the city to motivate people to join the rally he is to lead to the airport to welcome Nawaz Sharif on Friday (today), also asking them to vote for the party on July 25.

His party supporters accorded him a warm welcome wherever he went, dancing to the party slogans played on loudspeakers, and showering rose petals on his vehicle.

Speaking from inside his vehicle near Raiwind Flyover of the Lahore Ring Road, he reminded his party supporters that they were to welcome Mr Nawaz Sharif on his arrival at the Lahore airport.

He said the elder Sharif was not returning to the country for any personal benefit but for the sake of people.

He said the people at large loved the PML-N and they should reach Lohari Gate’s Muslim Masjid after Juma prayers to take part in the procession which would go to the airport to welcome Nawaz Sharif, he said.

He said the people would have to support the PML-N in the elections for making Pakistan a great country.

Mr Shahbaz later went to his family’s estate, Jati Umrah, reportedly to meet his mother.

He was scheduled to later address people at Kahna Flyover, Gajju Matta and near Shanghai Flyover on Ferozepur Road.
