THIS refers to the news report ‘Japan didn’t abandon KCR’ (June 26). It is shocking to hear Japan consul general say: “Without informing us, former Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced the inclusion of the KCR project in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.”
Surely, the KCR project, handled on its own with Japanese financing, could have been much better planned and implemented.
Moreover, the Japanese government had offered project financing on very attractive terms, including negligible interest rates, which would have kept the total project cost well below what it would be under the CPEC.
This just shows how serious PPP leadership is about solving one of the major problems faced by Karachi residents.
