KARACHI: Eight horses will battle it out for honours in the Monsoon Cup when the Gymkhana race meeting takes place at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

The cup race, which is supporting event scale order IV, V and VI will be contested over four-and-a-half furlongs and third in racing order,

The fourth and last race which is the day’s feature event, scale order II, III and IV, will also go over four-and-a-half furlongs.

The first two races will be run over four furlongs.

According to acceptors, 28 horses have entered in a four-race card and will compete for honours barring last-minute withdrawal.

Two horses — Lahore’s unknown bay mare Murad Queen and unknown dark bay horse Victory Warrior — will make their debut in the first race.

According to schedule, the first race starts at 3.30pm.
