PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has announced that power supply will remain suspended on Saturday (today) for three to four hours due to maintenance work on transmission lines.
According to a Pesco statement issued here on Friday, the power supply will remain suspended from Jamrud Grid Station from 7am to 10am, resultantly consumers of Mohmand Steel and Express-4 will face inconvenience. The supply would also remain suspended from Peshawar City Grid Station on Saturday (today) and Sunday from 7am to 10am, affecting the consumers of Nishtarabad, NHA, Chughalpura, Jhagra and Chamkani areas.
It stated that power supply will remain suspended from Chitral Grid Station on Saturday (today) from 8am to 12 noon, inconveniencing the consumers of Chitral city.
Meanwhile, the Pesco claimed to have detected 30 power theft cases in different parts of the provincial metropolis.
It was stated that during checking the Pesco staff removed 30 meters from different commercial and residential buildings and sent them to laboratory for further checking as part of the drive against theft and line losses.
The raids were conducted in Sikandarpura, Sethi Town, Nishtarabad, Akora Khattak, Pabbi and Chamkani sub-divisions. It was stated that 25 tampered power meters were replaced.
The Pesco has launched a drive against illegal connections to reduce burden on the transmission lines.
