LARKANA: Nida Khuhro submitted party ticket to returning officer on Friday to contest PS-11 in place of her father Nisar Ahmed Khuhro while all candidates of Sindh United Party (SUP) pulled out of the race in favour of the Jatois of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and others in Dadu and Mehar.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership allotted ticket to Ms Khuhro after election tribunal rejected papers of her father for PS-11 on Wednesday.

Among other contestants for PS-11, Mushtaq Mushhadi of Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen withdrew his papers in favour of Moazzim Abbasi, a candidate of Larkana Awami Ittehad.

SUP candidates withdraw in favour of PTI’s Jatois

DADU: All SUP candidates for PS-86, PS-85, PS-84, NA-234 and NA-235 in Dadu, Mehar withdrew papers in favour of PTI candidates and announced supporting the party’s candidates during election drive.

PTI leader Liaquat Ali Jatoi is contesting NA-234 and his relative Sadaqat Ali Jatoi is in the race for NA-235.

The decision came after a four-hour meeting between leaders of PTI and SUP led by Liaquat Ali Jatoi and Syed Zain Ali Shah at a party leader’s residence in Sehwan on Friday.

Jalal, among several others, withdraw papers

HYDERABAD: SUP president Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah took back his papers for NA-225 besides PPP’s Amir Ali Shah Jamote, Pir Amjad Shah Jilani, Mir Sher Mohammad Talpur and Umer Khalil, Qaumi Awami Tehreek candidates Gulzar Jumani who also pulled out of the race for the same seat.

Dr Irfan Gul Magsi submitted his withdrawal papers for NA-227 following seat adjustment between PPP and Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan-Noorani while Tehreek Allah-o-Akbar’s Faisal Nadeem also withdrew in favour of Sahibzada Zubair.

MQM-P deputy convener Kanwar Naveed Jamil, Pak Sarzameen Party’s Syed Mohammad Ahmed Rasheed withdrew papers for NA-227 while 13 candidates pulled out of the race for NA-226.

On PS-62, Kashif Shoro of PPP, Azam Jehangiri of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), Ayub Shar of PTI and independents Lal Khan and Rabiur Rehman pulled out of race. Six candidates including Pir Amjad Shah, Mir Sher Mohammad Talpur, Khawand Bux Jahejo and others withdrew papers for PS-63. Mr Jahejo and his son Sohail Khan withdrew in favour of Tabdeeli Pasand Party president Mohammad Ali Qazi.

PSP’s Abdul Aleem Khanzada, Abdul Ghafoor Rind, Hassan Ali Abidi, Mohammad Nadeem Abbasi, Waqas Siddiqui and Shahid Nabi withdrew papers for PS-64 while 22 candidates pulled out of the race for PS-65, 22 and 66, and 18 candidates withdrew papers for PS-67.

RO issues final list of candidates

SUKKUR: Eleven candidates including Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani of PPP, Muhammadmian Soomro of PTI, Shafiq Khoso, Dr A.G. Ansari of MMA, Sharif Khan Buledi of PTI, Zaheer Ahmed Jakhrani of PSP and others would contest NA-196 (Jacobabad), according to final list issued by returning officer (RO).

PTI’s Mir Raja Khan Jakhrani and Gohar Ali Shehalyani of PPP withdrew papers for NA-196 (Jacobabad).

According to the RO’s list, 12 candidates including Mir Aurangzeb Panhwar of PPP, Mohammad Aslam Abro of PTI, Mohammad Umar Soomro, Kaura Khan Katohar, Deedar Ali Lashari of MMA, Mohammad Akbar, Ghazanfar Ali Soomro, Mir Suleman Khan Panhwar, Israr Ahmed Jakhrani, Mohammad Akram Abro, Abbas Ali Shah and Mohammad Imran Abro would contest election for PS-1 (Jacobabad).
