KARACHI, June 1: Five ships carrying DAP fertilizer, containers and to load ethanol are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow as only two ships, APL Dalian to unload and load containers and Celtic Terrier, to offload palm oil were berthed after the departure of 10.
The ships, which departed were led by Kota Teguh, Sinar Riau, Gao He, Ping Jiang, Makran, Lalazar, Jo Gran, Alexandro TH and Oriental Wisteria, while Sea Ranger, APL Dalian, Hyundai Sprinter, Celtic Terrier and Lykes Race are due to sail out on Thursday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active owing to larger handling of the liquid cargo. The total tonnage rose to 83,301 tons comprising 15,522 tons of export cargo including 1,172 tons of cement and 67,779 tons of import, which also included 52,888 tons of oils.
The following ships are due on Thursday; Chem Rigel, to load 2,500 tons of ethanol, Sagamore, CMA CGM Karibu, APL Orchid, with containers and Path Finder, with 31,176 tons of DAP fertilizer.
