ISLAMABAD: On the first day of the Borneo Junior Squash Open all Pakistani players won their respective matches to move to the next round.

Besides Pakistan, host country Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Australia, Ireland and Japan are participating in the event, says a press release issued by the Pakistan Squash Federation on Wednesday.

In the under-13 category, Yasin Khattak, who got a bye in the first round, defeated Parthiban Sarvintirran of Malaysia 11-6, 11-0, 11-5.

Noor Zaman beat Malaysia’s Lau Cleb in the under-15 first-round match 11-6, 11-9, 15-13 before defeating Bathmanaban Harreish, also from Malaysia, 11-4, 11-9, 11-9.

In the same age group, Mohammad Ammad got first-round bye and then beat Malaysia’s Kumaran Subash 11-5, 11-7, 11-4 while Mohammad Hamza, who also got a bye upfront, beat Cheng Anson of Malaysia 11-4, 11-3, 11-4.
