Soneri, Al Habib declare PLS rates

KARACHI, Jan 9: Two private banks Soneri and Al Habib declared on Wednesday their respective rates of returns on various profit and loss accounts for the period July to Dec 2001.

Soneri Bank announced 9.30pc rate of return on PLS saving account. It has offered 6pc rate on 7 days notice period deposit and 7pc on 30 days notice deposit.

On term deposits Soneri Bank is offering 9pc on one month, 10pc on 3 months, 10.50pc on 6 months, 11pc on one year, 11.50pc on two years, 12pc on three years, 12.50pc on four years and 13pc on five years.

On Soneri accounts, the bank has declared 9pc on 1m, 9.50pc from over one million to 20m, 10.50pc on over 20m to 50m, 11.50pc over 50m to 55m, 12pc over 55m to 70m 12.10pc on over 70m to 200m and 1.50pc over 200m.

The Bank Al Habib has declared 11pc on saving bank deposit with free life insurance cover and 10.50pc on monthly saving bank with free life insurance cover.

A return of 5pc has been announced on 7 days notice deposit, 7.50pc on one month, 8pc on three months deposit, 8.50pc on six months, 10pc on one year, 10.50pc on two years, 11pc on three years and 12pc on five years.

The Al Habib Mahana Scheme has announced 9.5pc return on one year, 10pc on two years, 10.45pc on three years, 10.90pc on four years and 11.35pc on five years.

On Treasurer’s Call account on which the profit is payable on daily product basis Al Habib declared 7pc on balances from Rs250,000 up to Rs999,999, 8pc on balances of Rs1m up to Rs4,999,999, 8.50pc on Rs5m to Rs9,999,999 and 9pc on balances from Rs10m and above.
