ALTHOUGH orders have been passed by the Sindh High Court for the removal of barriers on main roads, it is to be noted that the court orders have not been followed in the case of Bogra Road (Bath Island). The barricades around the premises housing the French Consulate are causing inconvenience to the area’s residents as direct access from Feroze Nana Road to Bath Island hills has been totally blocked by the Rangers and police for both pedestrians and vehicles for a distance of approximately 100 yards.

This open contravention of court orders is surprising, considering the fact that the order has been implemented on other roads leading to the Chief Minister House and also to Bilawal house in Clifton.

The barriers have disrupted water supply for nearly two months, because the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board is unable to complete the replacement of broken sewerage and water lines.
