ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday welcomed the historic summit attended by the top US and North Korean leaders and hoped that it would lead to sustainable peace on the Korean Peninsula.

“Pakistan welcomes the meeting between the leaders of the US and DPRK and hopes that it would lead to lasting peace and stability in the region,” said Foreign Off­ice spokesman Dr Muham­mad Faisal. Pakistan, he added, had consistently supported eff­orts towards the peaceful settlement of problems existing on the peninsula.
