APROPOS the article ‘Time’s up’ (May 25). I am an M. Phil researcher working on a similar issue. There is no doubt social media is a scary place for women. These are only a couple of cases of the numerous types of online provocation that women confront wherever around the globe. Women are frequently subject to online assault dangers, online badgering, cyber stalking, extortion, and this is only the tip of the iceberg.

As the web turns into an undeniably essential piece of human presence and a basic space for minimised populaces to make their voices heard, a woman’s failure to feel safe online is an obstacle to her opportunity, and to her fundamental human rights. However the issue of online savagery and badgering is regularly neglected in exchanges of brutality against women.

Countless women are describing being sexually irritated or ambushed by flooding online networking with the hashtag #metoo in the wake of cases against motion picture maker Harvey Weinstein. Enough is enough. Men need to realise that there are limits that simply should not be crossed.
