MY family and friends bought several plots in Pakistan Post Office Employees Co-operative Housing Society in 2004 in sector 25-A of scheme 33. This investment was done through meagre resources.

Since 2013, prices of plots were coming down owing to illegal occupation by landgrabbers while the area had become no-go. Although we hold original files of the society plots, the market news is that a land mafia in collusion with property dealers created bogus files and many plots were illegally resold.

In another astonishing revelation, a land mafia group grabbed hundreds of plots and schemed to fleece original owners by selling a huge number.

I request chief justice of the Sindh High Court and the director-general of Sindh Rangers to take cognisance of this matter and get the area rid of landgrabbers, order strict investigation to apprehend culprits and allow/initiate developmental works in sector 25-A so people could start building houses or be able to sell their plots.

No matter how connected the landgrabbers and conspirators are, they should be taken to task.
