SHEIKHUPURA: Sixteen teachers of the district public school of Safdarabad have filed a harassment petition in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Ziaullah Gujjar.

Zaibunnisa, the principal of the school, submitted a petition on behalf of 16 teachers and accused an administration official of harassing them. She said the suspect threatened the teachers for not fulfilling his “unjust demands” and police were forcing them to withdraw the plaint.

The court after hearing initial arguments directed the police to submit their version within a week.

The official denies the allegations saying the deputy commissioner has ordered performance audit of the teachers which makes them nervous.

ROBBERY: Robbers took away valuables from the house of a grain market trader on Tuesday.

The robbers entered the house after scaling the boundary wall and held up the women. They took away valuables.

Later, trader Bashir Chaudhry and neighbours protested against police and said the DPO had posted a sub-inspector as an SHO who is unable to control crime.
