SWABI, Jan 8: Provincial Education Minister Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani said on Tuesday that without introduction of computer in our education sector our education system would remain incomplete.
This he stated while inaugurating computer laboratories in government high schools in Yar Hussain, Murghuz, Zarobi.
During the inauguration ceremonies the minister said for improving the education system the NWFP government had taken a number of steps.
He said top priority had been given to the introduction of computer in all secondary schools and for achieving of this purpose efforts would continue.
He said action would be taken against all those teachers who were found discouraging students, stressing that the teachers community should work hard for imparting education as without improving the education standard our dream of progress could not be materialized.
The minister said that 97 new lecturers would be appointed against 650 posts in various colleges of the province.
Similarly, in various schools of NWFP, there are 8,000 vacant posts however, the government has sanctioned the appointment of 2,000 teachers of various categories at present.
He said Rs64,00,000 had been allocated for the furniture of all schools of district Swabi and which would be provided before June this year.
The minister could not participate in the inauguration ceremony of Government High School Topi laboratory and returned from Zarobi when the NWFP governor called him to reach the provincial metropolis immediately.
The laboratory of Topi school was inaugurated by the NWFP Education Director, Hafiz Bahadar Khan. The district Nazim, Sher Zaman Sher, and other officials of the local administration were also present on the occasion.
