BATTAGRAM: PML-N president and Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that PTI failed to fulfil its commitments made with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a telephonic address to a public meeting of PML-N here on Tuesday, he said that PTI government had pledged to utilise water resources to overcome shortage of power and make the province self-sufficient in generation of electricity.

The PML-N president said that in fact the PTI government could not even restore a power project, which was constructed by the previous government in the province. He added that PTI chief Imran Khan inaugurated the project to hoodwink people.

PML-N provincial president Amir Muqam and other leaders were also present on the occasion.

Says BRT project marred by bad planning

Mr Sharif said that the PTI chairman always criticised the metro bus project launched by the Punjab government, but his party government launched a similar project in Peshawar without doing any homework. He said the provincial government dug out all roads without any planning and turned Peshawar into a ghost city.

Shahbaz Sharif said that same was the fate of other schemes initiated by the PTI government, including the billion tree tsunami project that proved just a political gimmick to mislead the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Amir Muqam said that the people were always deceived with slogans of religion, nationalism and change by different parties.

He said that Nawaz Sharif initiated China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, which would change the future of the region. “CPEC will bring prosperity and economic revolution in the country,” he added.

Mr Muqam criticised the provincial government for constructing Bus Rapid Transit at a cost of Rs70 billion.

He said that the project was completed by the Punjab government at only Rs30 billion.

He asked the people of the country to visit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and see where and what change was brought by the PTI government. He said that there was no accountability in the province.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi said on the occasion that that PML-N would form government after the 2018 general elections. He alleged that Imran Khan was working on a foreign agenda.
