Lyari taxi ban

Published April 27, 2018

RECETNLY, I went to Lyari after many years. On return, I wanted to use an online private taxi but was surprised to know that the private companies related to all online taxis had imposed a one-sided ban on their own and their vehicles did not enter Lyari, even though of late the law and order situation has further improved.

I had lived in Lyari for 35 years, and in my opinion it was never a dangerous place. Lyari’s Nauabad area was the safest area in the whole of Karachi where Justice Sajjad Ali Shah (ex-chief justice of the Supreme Court) and his father, Syed Roshan Ali Shah (ex-Registrar Sindh High court), were my neighbours

I request the authorities concerned to ensure such one-sided ban imposed by online private taxis is removed.
