MUZAFFARABAD: Eight people died after a passenger jeep they were travelling in fell into a gorge near here on Tuesday evening, police said.

The hardtop jeep was on its way to Seri Darra village, northeast of Muzaffarabad, when it met with the accident sometime between 8.30 and 9pm, DSP Riyaz Mughal told Dawn. He said all bodies had been evacuated from the gorge.

Residents identified the deceased as Muhammad Naveed, Muhammad Sadiq, Bashir, Qasim, Ghulam Hussain, Aslam, Javaid and Nargis Bibi.
