DADU, May 20: A woman and a man were killed on pretext of karo-kari in the Jhangal Panhwar village, Johi taluka, on Thursday night. One Mir Khan Panhwar shot dead his wife, Irshad Khatoon, 18, and Aijaz Sahir, 18, on the pretext of karo-kari.

The accused escaped after committing the crime.

MANCHHAR WATER: The Irrigation control officer at Manchhar, Inayat Ali, said on Friday that 780 cusecs of polluted water from the Manchhar Lake was released into the Indus River through the Aral Wah on Friday.

He said that the water level of Manchhar Lake was 108.4 RL and 8 inches of water was flowing in the Nai Gaaj. He said that water flow in downstream Sukkur was 57,262 cusecs.

RALLY: On the call of the Johi NGOs network, a rally was taken out in the Dadu town on Friday to protest against attack on HRCP leaders, Asma Jehangir, Iqbal Hyder and others during a marathon race in Lahore a few days back. Members of 15 NGOs of Dadu participated in the rally.

They were led by Johi NGOs Network Chairman Akbar Lashari. They also staged a demonstration for two hours outside the Dadu Press Club.
