Five arrested, drugs seized

ISLAMABAD, May 20: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested five persons, including four women, and seized brown heroin and charas from them, an ANF spokesman said here on Friday. He said ANF Rawalpindi had received information that an attempt would be made to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics to the Punjab. Acting on the tip-off, a raiding party was constituted under the supervision of assistant director police station ANF, Rawalpindi which intercepted a vehicle (JMD-4032) on G.T. Road near Tarnol Railway crossing.

On searching the car, the ANF officials found 3.5kg of brown heroin and 15.6kg of charas.

Five persons, identified as Gulshan Bibi, Asia Bibi, Naushaba Ishfaq, Yasmin Bibi and Mohammad Ali, were taken into custody. A case has been registered against them and investigation started.
