KARACHI: Dawood Sports will meet Mansoora Sports in the day-night final of the Federal Sports Trophy Cricket League at the TMC Ground on Friday after both scored easy wins in their respective semi-finals here.

Dawood Sports booked their spot after whipping Mujahid Gymkhana at the TMC Ground on Wednesday.

Batting first, Dawood amassed 308-4 in their stipulated 40 overs with opener Ahmer Bin Nasir scoring a brilliant 141. His 123-ball knock included 17 boundaries and five sixes.

Fahaddis Bukhari bludgeoned a 31-ball 60 with his unbeaten innings containing five fours and a six, while Ahmer’s older brother Saeed Bin Nasir hit 47 with the aid of five fours and one six. Mujahid Gymkhana, in reply, were dismissed for 126 inside 38 overs.

Earlier in the last quarter-final at the same venue on Tuesday, Dawood Sports rode on Ahmer’s 106-ball effort of 104 (13 boundaries) to outgun New Karachi Gymkhana by 88 runs.

Meanwhile, Mansoora Sports won the first semi-final against Montgomery Gymkhana at the KCCA Stadium on Tuesday by 92 runs.

Mati-ur-Rehman (90 off 79 balls, 11 fours) and Haris Ali (unbeaten 84 off 76, six fours and one six) propelled Mansoora to 296-8 in 40 overs before Montgomery Gymkhana ended up making 204-7 with Mohammad Kashif scoring 80 off 90 balls (five fours).

Ex-KCCA president Prof Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi will be the chief guest at the prize-distribution ceremony.
