QUETTA: Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Khan Sanjrani said on Monday that he had been elected to the top slot of the upper house of parliament with majority and, therefore, he did not see any possibility of a no-confidence motion being moved against him.

Talking to journalists on his arrival at the Dalbandin airport on his way to his native town of Nokundi in Chagai district, Mr Sanjrani said that he was not afraid of propaganda about the no-trust motion.

“I was a joint candidate of PPP, PTI, independent senators from Balochistan, Fata and other opposition parties,” the Senate chief said.

In reply to a question about the independent group of senators from Balochistan, Mr Sanjrani said the group would stay intact in the Senate.

“We will keep our independent position intact in the Senate,” he said.

When Mr Sanjrani arrived at the Dalbandin Airport, a large number of people, including tribal elders of different tribes, warmly welcomed him.
