ISLAMABAD: Thailand’s brilliant golfer Sarunchana Rattanasin showed her class here on Sunday when she bagged Gross winner in gold category with a fabulous score of 222, thus lifting the main trophy of the third edition of Pakistan Ladies Amaetur Golf Championship which concluded at the Islamabad Golf Course.

She was followed by her compatriot Tantita Aungsusee Wong who scored 223 gross to grab the runner-up position while Sonia Akhter of Bangladesh was adjudged second runner-up with 240 gross.

Over 60 women golfers including four foreigners — two each from Tahiland and Bangladesh — participated in the three-day event.

In competitions of net category, Hamna Amjad from PAF Kamra remained on the top with 240 net 12 under par. Zaibun Nisa of Royal Palm Lahore stood runner up for 256- 7 tied won on score of final round while second Liza Akter from Bangladesh bagged the second runner up spot with 7 over.

Meanwhile, in the silver category, Naghmana Atif of KGC won the contest with 176 gross followed by Tehmina Rashid of ICGC with 182 gross and Abiha Hanim Syed of KGC with 189 gross.

DSP Shahzadi Gulfam of Lahore Garrison scored net 2 over to be declared winner in the Net category where Shahbana Shahid Siddiqui of KGC scored net 7 over and stood runner-up. In the Bronze category, Gross winner Aisha Moazzam from Lahore Garrison with 198 score was declared winner with Saleem Akhtar of MGGC as runner up for scoring 201. Whereas, Mrs Farnaz Bajwa of MGGC with 211 score was declared second runner up.

Net winner category was won by Suhyung Jung of ICGC for scoring net 3 under and Asmaa Maqsood of Piffer Abottabad scored net 5 and were tied to win over on best second round score. While, Nighat Sultana of RGC stood second runner up with score of 5 over.

Former federal minister for health Dr. Sania Nishtar was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and the finals, where she gave away trophies to winners and runners up.
