NBP’s ATMs

Published March 16, 2018

I HAVE been using ATM card of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) for the last two years. Often on the first of every month I go to the ATM at Karachi University’s NBP branch.

Usually, it is closed by the bank administration. The reason always is that the ‘link is down’. I have noticed that after discussion with operations manager the ATM is opened and transactions are easily done. If the ‘link is down’ how are transactions made after one asks the bank administration to open the ATM?

I have experienced the same problem with the NBP’s ATM at Pacca Chang branch many times.

The State Bank of Pakistan governor and NBP president should take steps to ensure customers of all banks, including the NBP, are facilitated by bank administrations by keeping the ATMs always open.
