TOBA TEK SINGH: The Gojra Saddar police registered a case against a factory owner and his two accomplices on the charge of killing a trade union leader in his powerloom factory.

Basharat Sher informed police that his brother Abdul Khaliq Sher was a labour leader and he had gone to the powerloom factory of Muhammad Jamil on Gojra-Samundri Road. He said Jamil and Khaliq exchanged harsh words after which the former, along with his accomplices Malik Amjad and Muhammad Tariq, shot dead his brother.

The Saddar police said raids were being conducted to arrest the suspects. On Friday, workers of the powerloom factories observed strike in Gojra to protest the murder of their trade union leader. The Gojra Bar Association members had also observed strike.
