MANSEHRA: A woman and her two children were found hanged to death in Punjool Tarair area here on Thursday.

The bodies of Zahida Bibi and her son Mohammad Amir, 6, and daughter Marrium were found hanged at their house. The police later took the bodies to civil hospital in Shinkiari.

“We have taken into custody the mother-in-law of the victim woman and preliminary investigation is underway,” district police officer Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari told mediapersons.

He said that the suspected woman was present alone in the house when the incident happened.

“We have started investigation to ascertain who is behind these murders,” he said.

Also in the day, one Sabir Hayat was killed and his brother Amir Hayat sustained critical injuries when armed men opened fire on them at their residence in Giriwall area of the district.

Shinkiari police have registered the case.
