RAWALPINDI: A marble factory owner was gunned down while his brother was shot and injured during a robbery attempt at Lulyal Road in Airport police area on Wednesday night.

According to the police, a motorcyclist came to Zahir Hussain Bhatti’s factory and held him at gunpoint.

“First, the victims tried to overpower the gunman and slapped him, but he fired gunshot and killed Zahid Hussain.

His brother Mujahid Hussain was also shot by the gunman when he tried to overpower him,” the police investigating officer said.

He said the robber who was alone according to eye witnesses sped away without taking any cash after killing one and injuring the other.

The injured was removed to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

Till the filing of this report, the police was unable to trace the culprit.

Meanwhile, the traders of the area staged a protest against the deteriorating law and order and police failure to check armed robberies.
