Foreign equivalence

Published February 20, 2018

IT is unfortunate that the policies of our educational institutes are hampering our the progress of our youth. I refer to media reports regarding the foreign equivalence issue raised in the Senate.

The Inter Board Committee of Chairmen was instructed by the Senate to come up with an alternative method for students who hold a Foundation Diploma from abroad which is equivalent to an ‘A’ level qualification. It is regrettable that even after the Senate’s findings and prior to the publication of the IBCC report, no action has been taken to date.

Students awaiting their results can plan accordingly, if this anomaly is addressed.
