LDA recruitment

Published February 17, 2018

THE Lahore Development Agency (LDA) recently announced vacancies for the job of assistant director. The job recruitment process involves the National Testing Service(NTS). This advertisement has appalled almost every right-minded person.

The NTS holds no moral and legal grounds to conduct the test. Recently, top officials of NTS were arrested on corruption charges and they are under investigation by law-enforcement agencies. Crruption and nepotism reign supreme in the NTS.

Job opportunities are scarce in our country. Placing the fate of young generation in the hands of corrupt institutions means alienating and marginalising the young generation. If incompetent and corrupt people continue to make their way to the LDA, the reputation and efficiency of the institution will erode further. The Punjab Public Service Commission is a viable option instead of the NTS to ensure transparent recruitments.
