LAHORE: Saeed Anwar XI and Afzal Manna XI qualified for the Nine-a-Side Shezan Hockey Gold Cup final here at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday.

Saeed Anwar XI won both the matches they played on Friday. Afzal Manna XI were held to a 2-2 draw against Brig M.H. Atif XI to qualify for the final.

Saeed Anwar XI first defeated Munir Dar XI 2-0 with Hafiz Hammad and Umair scoring in the 22nd and 35th minutes. In their next match, Saeed Anwar XI XI edged out Dr Ghulam Rasool XI 2-1 to make the final.

Rizwan (9th) and Abid Bhatti (35th) scored one goal each for the winners while Murtaza Yaqoob reduced the margin for the losing side.

In the match between Afzal Manna XI and Brig M.H. Atif XI, Zeeshan scored a brace for the former in the 14th and 24th minutes while Haseeb (17th) and Amir Ali (19th) scored for the latter. The final and playoff matches will be played on Saturday.
