LAHORE: England all-rounder Samit Patel will join Islamabad United for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018 being played later this month in the UAE and Pakistan.

A spokesman of Pakistan Cricket Board, while talking to APP here on Tuesday, said, “Patel comes in as a replacement for Sri Lankan all-rounder Asela Gunaratne who will miss the season due to a national team training camp.”

He added that Patel brought a wealth of experience to the Islamabad United squad with 214 T20 games, 4,174 career runs and 178 wickets.

He said, “England fast bowler David Willey had to pull out due to a pre-season county tour. Willey’s compatriot Steve Finn, who was earlier drafted as a partial replacement for Willey, will now be available for the full tournament.”
