LAHORE: Six teams who have been named after the names of some great hockey Olympians, all dead now, will compete in the Nine-a-Side Shezan Hockey Gold Cup being held at the National Hockey Stadium here from Feb 15 to 17.

The event has been organised by Lahore’s two leading hockey nurseries, Dar and Rana Zaheer Hockey Academies.

The teams have been named after some of Pakistan’s greatest hockey players: Brig. M.H. Atif, Munir Ahmad Dar, Chaudhry Ghulam Rasool, Tanveer Ahmad Dar, Saeed Anwar and Afzal Manna.

All the teams have been formed from the players of various clubs.
