Mohsin Abbas Haider recently returned to the small screen with Meeras and he's already signed onto more projects.

The actor's latest TV project is titled Lashkara. Images got in touch with the actor, who revealed that the drama is written by the same writer who penned Muqabil.

"It's written beautifully, we were admiring every dialogue," the actor said. "Kashif Nisar is directing it. I wanted to work with him for a long time. I had met him long ago on the sets of another drama but we never got the chance to work together until now and it's been amazing."

About his role in Lashkara, the actor revealed: "My character's name is Feeka. he's a mama's boy who's called bonga by many people, someone who doesn't understand things easily and is the type to go to his mother when confronted with any issue."

"He sells pakoras and becomes rich somehow. After making a fortune he decides to profess his love to a young woman who knows to be the most beautiful woman in that area."

According to the actor, "It's a hardcore love story, but it's very innocent. It shows what happens when a "silly" (bonga) man loves. And that love makes him stronger; the kind of changes he goes through and the evolution of his character. Same goes for Ushna's character, when an immature woman (similar to Feeka) goes through hurdles and grows up during the process. Both our characters support each other through the difficulties and face life together. I think it's very sweet and I'm loving it."

The cast also includes Ushna Shah, Imran Ashraf, Ahmed Abdul Rehman, Saba Hameed and Noor ul Hassan Anam Tahir.

"There are also some actors from theatre who are pretty much fresh faces in drama. I had a lot of fun working with them. When you work with new actors they give you an amazing boost and motivate you to do your best. I myself started from theatre so the theatre artist in me feels very satisfied," added Mohsin.

The shoot for Lashkara is still in process but Mohsin hints at the project reaching completion soon.

"It's a wonderful project. This is the kind of acting I wanted to do. Before Muqabil I was considered for comedy projects, now I feel like my potential is being explored and this drama might break that stereotype about me," he said.

Lashkara will air on ARY Digital. However, no release date has been announced for the drama yet.
