Stopping child abuse

Published February 2, 2018

THE manace of child abuse in Pakistan seems to be increasing day by day. The little Zainab of Kasur was not the first child to be abused. Many such cases have happened all over Pakistan. In 2017 more than 10 such cases occurred in Kasur only, and counting many such other cases will push the casualty figure to hundreds, may be more. Zainab, Laiba, Amin Fatima, these are some of the victims wo had gone through this inhuman torture.

Children, specially girls, are being abducted from their homes and tuition centres, then raped and killed. Almost every hour a little child falls prey to a predator. Why isn’t there any mechanism to stop all this? How long will people live in fear?

A society that cannot protect its children and women have no right to exist. Zainab got justice but what about a hundred other Zainabs whose tormentors and killers now roam freely.

This inhuman act must be stopped at once. We want a society where everyone is free — at least free to be conscious about their being. The government must take strict action to stop child abuse once and for all times.
