KARACHI: Inter suppl exams begin

Published January 8, 2002

KARACHI, Jan 7: The intermediate supplementary examinations for candidates of Commerce and Humanities groups began on Monday in the afternoon sittings.

A senior official said the examinations were held peacefully at 31 examinations centres set up at different colleges. The examinations were conducted under the supervision of principals working in the morning shifts.

Independent sources said due to last minute changes in the timing of the examinations, there was a little bit confusion among the candidates. Some of the candidates, who were ignorant about the BIE’s decision that examinations would be held in the afternoon session, reported for the examinations in the morning shift as well.

At some of the evening shift colleges, where teaching usually starts at 3 or 4pm, the routine classes were delayed for an-hour or two in order to complete the examinations in a peaceful manner.
