KARACHI: President Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) Gen (r) Arif Hasan on Thursday launched the Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) website at the Olympic House in Lahore.

“It is great to see that the sports federations have started acquainting themselves with contemporary technology. By using channels like website and social media, one can easily keep the whole world informed about their activities,” Arif said while speaking on the occasion.

POA Secretary Mohammad Khalid Mehmood and Secretary SFP Asif Azeem were also present on the occasion.

Arif Hasan further said that in order to portray a soft image of Pakistan across the world and to subsequently bring international tournaments and events back to Pakistan, a concerted effort has to be made by all stakeholders here.

“POA would also fully support SFP when it organizes South West Asia Women Softball Cup later this year,” said Arif. “We would also help SFP when it would send its players and technical officials for training abroad.”

SFPs Asif thanked Gen (r) Arif for his tremendous support to SFP and added that the federation would be regularly organizing international softball events in the country . “We have been consistently in contact with World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC) Secretary Dato Low Beng Choo so that we could host international events in Pakistan,” said Asif.
