CHARSADDA: The second anniversary of the martyrs of the terrorist attack on the Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, was observed at the varsity campus here on Saturday.

The ceremony was organised by the students’ action committee of the university, where parents and friends of the martyrs were also present. The students had raised donations to hold the ceremony.

Student leaders on the occasion criticised the university administration, the district administration and the provincial and central governments for ignoring to organise a ceremony for the martyred students.

They said the students had to collect donations to hold the event to pay homage to their colleagues. They said the non-participation of political parties, including PTI and PML-N, in the ceremony spoke of their bias to the university, which was named after Khudai Khidmatgar Bacha Khan.

The speakers also criticised the university administration for sending the teachers on a tour to Lahore on the important occasion. They demanded martyrs package for the slain students.
