Garden City

Published January 20, 2018

I AM a retired government employee and father of three grown-up daughters. I had purchased a 125-square-yard (GCP 5 M) plot of land in 2013 in Garden City, Zone-6, Bahria Town, Phase-8, Rawalpindi, for Rs3,000,000 (three million rupees) on the then prevailing market price.

To my dismay, now when I have decided to sell this plot for the marriage of my daughter, I have learnt that the transfer of plots in Garden City has been stopped. This was done more than one year because Garden City has been merged with DHA, and probably there is some disagreement on some aspects of it between DHA and the Bahria Town management.

This issue has adversely affected the market price of Garden City plots and shattered the confidence of the people who have invested their earnings in the scheme.

I request Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz to look into this issue and order its management to settle the issue with DHA.
